Foldable device considerations Use the fold control to fold and unfold book-style foldable Android devices, such as Samsung Galaxy Z Fold and Google Pixel Fold, during a manual session. The fold control does not support flip-style devices, such as Samsung Galaxy Z Flip. The following limitations apply to Portal 2610.15 or later, deviceConnect 2610.15 or later, and Standalone 4.27.2S or later. Supported sessions Fold and unfold controls are available in manual sessions only. Session Explorer records fold and unfold steps for manual sessions only. When you convert a session to a test case, fold and unfold steps appear as unsupported steps. Fold state between sessions The physical fold state is the position of the device’s hinge. The reported fold state is the folded or unfolded state that the fold control sets and that the session uses. The reported fold state does not reset when a session ends. The next session starts in the reported fold state that the previous session left, even if it differs from the physical fold state. The fold control and the session stream show the reported fold state. To change the reported fold state for the current session, select Fold device or Unfold device. To reset a Private device to its physical fold state, restart the device. To reset a Public device to its physical fold state, submit a support ticket to Kobiton requesting a device restart. Session video After a fold or unfold, the session video can appear stretched or squeezed. To view the screen without distortion, use the step screenshots in the Session Explorer timeline. Session Explorer Inspector alignment On some steps captured after a fold or unfold, Inspector highlights do not line up with the app’s elements. Hovering over or selecting an element highlights a different area of the screenshot. Touch and swipe markers are not affected. Step screenshots The screenshot for a fold or unfold step is captured shortly after the change. If the device is slow to switch screens, the screenshot can still show the previous screen. Flip-style devices Folding the device: The main screen turns off, and the session stream goes black. The cover screen is not displayed. Unfolding the device: The stream remains black. To restore video: Select Power to turn on the screen and display the lock screen, then select Power again to unlock the device. Alternatively, turn off Lightning Mode in Speedometer. Video resumes at a lower frame rate. Starting a session on a folded device: The session cannot be used. It displays only the cover screen’s always-on display, and Unfold device and Home have no effect. Hosting foldable devices When hosting Private or Local foldable Android devices, such as Samsung Galaxy Z Fold, Google Pixel Fold, and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip: Keep devices unfolded. Stand devices upright. When a device lies flat, the session stream might not adjust to the screen after a fold or unfold. For details, see Prepare foldable Android devices.
