Device controls

Use these device controls to interact with your device during a manual test session.

Touch

To interact with your device, select Touch, then use left-click to tap and swipe the device screen.

Pinch/zoom

To pinch or use two-finger zoom, select Pinch/ Zoom, then place the center circle on the target and drag an outer circle.

Set device location

To change the device location, select Location, then search for a location or enter the longitude and latitude.

Set device timezone

To change the device timezone, select Set device timezone and choose a timezone from the dropdown.

Rotate screen

To rotate the device screen between portrait or landscape, select Rotate Screen.

Volume

To change the device volume, select Volume Up or Volume Down.

adb shell

To enter Android Debug Bridge (adb) commands, select adb shell, then enter a supported adb command.

Perform VoiceOver

Once VoiceOver for iOS is set up, select Perform VoiceOver, then choose a VoiceOver option to test an app’s screen reader compatibility.

Biometric authentication

Once you’ve added our biometrics authentication library to your app, select Biometric Authentication, then choose Pass or Fail to test authentication requests.

Draw custom gesture

To draw custom gestures like three-finger swipes or two-finger taps, select Draw Custom Gesture, then choose a sample gesture or create your own.

Once a custom gesture is created, select the star icon to save it for future sessions.

Input sensitive data

To input sensitive data (like usernames and passwords), select Input Sensitive Data, then enter the data in the text box.

Select the corresponding field on the device screen, then select Save to input the sensitive data.

Image injection

To test your in-app camera, select Image Injection, then add an image to the injection library and select Inject.

Power

To lock the device screen, select Power.

Locking the device screen won’t end the session.

Home button

To replicate the iOS or Android home button, single-click or double-click the Home Button.

Recent apps

To replicate Android’s display recent apps button, select Recent Apps.

Back

To replicate Android’s return to the previous page, select Back.

Synchronous inventory capture

To ensure each action is captured in the inventory before a new action can be started, enable Synchronous Inventory Capture.

The circle will be filled when an action is fully captured.

Speedometer

To view the session runtime, latency, and resolution, select the Speedometer.

To increase the device screen to 30 frames per second (FPS), enable Lightning Mode.

Lightning mode is only available for certain plans.

Screenshots

To take a screenshot of the current screen, select Take Screenshot to take a screenshot. The total number of screenshots will be displayed on the Screenshots icon.
